FEW DEFINITIONS ABOUT RACISME!

Literally, racism can be define as the belief that race accounts for diffrences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. We also can say that racism is a prejudice and discriminate other races based on skin colours or race.

According to the  English Oxford's Dictionary the term describe the theory that distinctive human charateristics and abilities are determined by race. There are two attitudes towardsthe concepts of racism: one says that racism is usefully applied only where it is derived from a perception of race and the ensuing fixation on typical racial traits. Another opinion is racism consists in intentional practises and unintended processes or consequences of attitudes towards the other ethnic.

Philosophy Dictionary define the racism as the inability or refusal to recognize the rights, needs, dignity or  value of people particular races or geographical  origins.

From sociological  view (Christopher Bates Doob, 1981) , we can say that race refers to distinct physical charateristics such as skin colour and certain features used to divide people into wide categories. Racial classifications often create self-fulfulling prophecy: an incorrect definition of a situation that comes to pass because people accept the incorrect definition an act on it to make it became true. In such instances when the dominant  group within a society declares a racial group inferior, they limit the opportunities of those group members, and so those individuals will demonstrate more limited capabilities than the members of the dominant group.

From our point of view, racism can be defined as a belief of certain ethnic, or based on skin colours, the eye colour, and origin country. Sounds like something good for me here because we can say that the ethnocentrisme feeling were instilled in each of them. Ethnocentrisme can be said as a group of people who thinks that their cultures is more better than the others. Why it is so?
This topic will be peel of by the next post...so...just wait and see!!!!!!

HOW ABOUT ETHNICITY?

Within sociological view, ethnicity can be defined as a set of cultural or national qualities that differ a particular category of people from other categories.

Ethnic groups differ on such issues as values, ideas, food habits, family patterns, sexual behaviour, beauty standards, political outlook, work orientation, and recreational behaviour, and the culture of an ethnic group creates a sense of identity among the members.

Even though all of you feels that the ethnicity does not playing main role in causing racism, but its still one of the cause which causes racism among Malaysians. Sounds silly but thats the truth my freind. Sometimes we do not seem deeply in this issues. But 13 May tragedy quite deeply hurts in our society. But, by the time pass over, societies start to lose their memory towards this issues without knowing what is the consequences if the racism still being a great thing to hold. 13 May just playing around their lips. Different meaning was given towards racism. some giving good response into it and in the other hand is contrast with the other one.
What happen actually?
What is the effect being racist in our own society?
What is the solution about this matter?
Oh My God...too much question to be answered in short answers.
Basicly, peoples thought that this is such a boring topic to be discussed over. But for us, citizen of Malaysia, thinks that this is the main point that have to be monitored all over the time because we live in the same roof.
Understanding? Tolerance? Helping each other???
Not in our societies????
What does that means??
